Surface Exploration in Stamped Metal, Texturing, and Silver Dust Fusing Workshop with Aisha Formanski | Peninsula School of Art

Friday, July 6, 2018 (All day) to Saturday, July 7, 2018 (All day)

Concept and Experience
Spend two days creating beautiful jewelry that shows contrast in surface and design using stamps, hand texturing, and silver dust fusing. This workshop will address not only surface design, but also ring and cuff bracelet construction and stone setting.

Beginning with stamping and texturing, Aisha will introduce metal stamps, as well as tips and tricks to stamp successfully every time. Texturing with hammers and found objects, such as concrete and old steel wire, will also be used to make cuff bracelets and a handful of stacking rings. Sizing, forming, and soldering will be demonstrated and discussed. The second day will focus on silver dust fusing to add surface interest through two intermediate level projets, including a spinner ring and a pair of earrings with set stones.

Open to beginning and intermediate students.
